3coast Showcases DBITS Capabilities at the 2010 DIR Power to Purchase Technology Expo

3coast, a Houston-based business technology services and technology staffing firm, participated in the 2010 DIR Power to Purchase Technology Expo at the Palmer Event Center last week in Austin, Texas.  The show was sold out and there was a waiting list for attendees.

Power to Purchase brings DIR contracted technology vendors together with information technology and purchasing staff from state agencies, local and county government, K-12 and higher education to raise awareness about DIR’s Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Cooperative Contracts program. ICT Co-op Contracts is a streamlined cooperative purchasing program for state and local government, public education, and other public entities within and outside the state of Texas.

For more than a decade, 3coast has helped state agencies, local governments, and school districts to drive operational efficiencies and improve services using technology. Since being selected by DIR for Deliverables Based IT Services (DBITS), providing services to government clients is easier than ever through Texas DIR’s GoDIRect program.

3coast supports state agencies, cities, counties, schools, and higher education under the DBITS Contract with the following initiatives.

  • Custom Application Development & Integration
  • IT Assessments (infrastructure assessment, workflow automation, software selection, technology blueprint & roadmap)
  • Network Assessments and Hardening, including Security
  • Organizational and Skills Assessment
  • Policy & Procedure Review and Development
  • Upgrades & Migration Projects
  • Process Reengineering

3coast shared details of these initiatives with the attendees at the Expo, provided numerous client testimonials and gave away booth prizes to four lucky attendees.

The purpose of the DIR Power to Purchase Expo is to educate government buyers about the DIR procurement process, provide ideas and introduce them to the vendors who have been vetted by their process to provide goods and services to the DIR member population.  The show, which is an annual event, was deemed a success by both exhibitors and attendees alike.
